BER Agriculture

Here, you'll be taught the process of planting rice in a paddy field that you've previously plowed with oxen. You'll dive right into the mud and plant the rice together, walking backward. Children can participate in this activity. They'll experience the process of rice production, from planted rice to cooked rice.

BER Archery

Jemparingan (archery) is generally known as Jemparingan Mataraman or Jemparingan Kasultanan Ngayogyakarta. The way to do Jemparingan Mataraman is to sit cross-legged and concentrate on the heart.

BER Cigarette Rolling Activity

The name "Rokok linting" comes from the method of making it: rolling the ingredients into a sheet of “kelobot” (corn husk).. Nowadays, it has been replaced with special cigarette paper, called "garet." The ingredients are simple, just dried tobacco and cloves. These ingredients are arranged on the "garet" and then rolled. This cigarette is called "Tingwe," meaning "rolling your own cigarette." At Omah Kecebong, you can feel this "Tingwe" experience, rolling your own cigarette.

BER Exploration by Volkswagen

At Omah Kecebong, you'll experience a unique experience riding in these colonial-era vehicles. Not only will you be driving, but you'll also be dressed in colonial-era attire, or Javanese attire, resembling an official of yore. You'll also be taken on a tour of the countryside and the iconic Mataram canals of the colonial era.

BER Javanese Fashion Dressing

One of the most popular cultural activities at Omah Kecebong is the one-day Javanese experience. Dressed in Javanese attire, you can take photos in our natural studios, which features over ± 20 photo spots. Visitors are recommended to wear Javanese attire throughout all other activities until the end of the visit.

BER Making Batik Activity

Batik is an Indonesian cultural heritage officially recognized by UNESCO. Batik-making can improve patience and motor skills in participants. Batik-making is aimed at tourists who want the new experience of creating their own batik.

BER Making Grass Puppet

In this activity, we will introduce the younger generation to one of Indonesia's shadow puppet arts, 'wayang suket'. Long ago, in Javanese villages, wayang suket was a traditional children's game made from grass. The grass puppets were made by braiding the grass stems/straws into the shapes of characters from the shadow puppet show.

BER Pottery Fabrication Activity

Omah Kecebong offers pottery workshops for those visiting Yogyakarta. Here, participants will receive a one-day workshop on making clay pottery. At the end of the workshop, they can take home their finished pottery as a souvenir from Yogyakarta.

BER Riding Oxen Cart

In the past, ox carts were a common means of transportation when motorized vehicles were not common. This activity invites you to experience transportation of yesteryear, while enjoying the natural charm of rice paddies with their diverse crops, rural life, and various interesting sights along the way.

BER Village Culinary

BER-Village Cullinary at Omah Kecebong is a culinary experience that emphasizes the experience of old-world village dining. We offer three dining options to suit your chosen theme: Dahar Kembul, Setambir Seorang, and Family Style.

Rustic Snack

Omah Kecebong's signature village snacks are a rural menu served at the start or midway through your activities. Our menu is a typical Yogyakarta village dish. These rustic snacks are now rare in urban areas, so we're bringing them back as a way to reminisce about childhood snacks and reintroduce you to the flavors of yesteryear.

The welcome drink at Omah Kecebong is uniquely packaged inside a pineapple. It comes with a variety of beverages, including rice and ginger (rice ginger) or various fruit juices, according to your request.
